Review of preliminary task

Equipment:
Camera - canon Legria Camcorde Plus
Tripod
Editing software - Adobe premier

Skills

We use numerous skills during the production process of the preliminary exercise such as a 180 degree shot and shot reverse shot. We use these when the student and teacher are having a conversation about the drugs.

Positives and Negatives

Firstly a positive is that our production runs smoothly and runs together nicely. This is because we used the 180 degree to create continuity. This is maintained throughout as the characters of the student and teacher remain in the same positions, despite the conversations being filmed at different times.
A further positive is that our film is interesting and exciting. This is because the film is mainly a drama which makes it interesting for the audience and includes tension.

In addition, the continuity of our film is constantly maintained for many different reasons:

- Clothes worn are the same throughout
- No sudden switches
- Conversations flow
- Parts that have been filmed at different times, are not obvious

A negative of our task is that when we first made our film, it did not save properly which meant that some parts were lost. This meant that we had to re-do our film again. This was time consuming and meant that our group was behind. In addition to this, when filming, our group found it difficult to not laugh during the filming. Therefore we had to take at least twenty shots before it was good enough!

To add to the negatives, we had difficulty with editing, this is because the software used stopped working properly which caused us to be behind. This meant that we had to use extra time to finish off the task.
